Digital Payment Collection on Rider App

Shipsy’s finance suite allows riders to collect COD amount using QR code based payment options like UPI.

With the advent of multiple payment methods, the customers are provided with more and easy modes of payment. Shipsy currently supports payment through: 

• Cash

• Cheque

• DD

• Online payment methods for the end customers. 

• UPI Payment

Introduction of UPI payment through QR codes during consignment delivery has become one of the most valuable additions in the finance module being provided to clients. To use this option, rider has to select the consignment in their delivery task list and attempt the delivery. This consignment should be COD with Cash as the payment method.

Along with cash and online payment methods available to the customer, an additional option is visible to the rider which may be used to scan the QR code for UPI payment.

This QR code will be a dynamic QR code which will contain the below details:

1. VPA Code

2. Merchant Name

3. Consignment Number

4. Wallet Code

5. Amount

6. Currency

7. MCC Code

There is a verify button in the QR code screen as well as the collect payment screen to check the payment completion status. This ensures that the payment is submitted and logged against a specific consignment only and also ensures that the QR code is unique for each and every transaction. Once the amount is successfully added to the corresponding wallet, Shipsy will push the completion status to Shipsy Ops dashboard so that the delivery can be completed. Without the update, consignment delivery cannot be completed. Till the payment confirmation is received, CN will be available for other modes of collection or marking it as undelivered.
